LoRa Module 433MHz, 868MHz, 915MHz Operating Frequency Characteristics

LoRa module can operate at multiple different operating frequencies, including 433MHz, 868MHz and 915MHz frequency bands. The transmission characteristics of different frequencies are suitable for different application scenarios. The following are the transmission characteristics and corresponding application scenarios of each frequency band.

Lora frequency

433MHz frequency band:

Transmission characteristics: 433MHz LoRa module usually has good penetration ability in the 433MHz frequency band and is suitable for communication through obstacles, but the communication distance is relatively short.

Application scenarios: The 433MHz frequency band is suitable for smart homes, short-distance sensor networks, wireless remote controls, personal IoT devices and agricultural applications. In these scenarios, relatively short communication distances are acceptable.

868MHz frequency band:

Transmission characteristics: The 868MHz LoRa module has a good balance and is suitable for medium communication distances while having appropriate penetration capabilities.

Application scenarios: The 868MHz frequency band is suitable for applications such as smart cities, industrial automation, environmental monitoring, remote sensors, wireless measurement and smart buildings. It typically covers communication needs in urban and suburban environments.

915MHz frequency band:

Transmission characteristics: 915MHz LoRa module usually has a long communication distance, but relatively poor penetration ability. It is suitable for a wide range of communication needs.

Application scenarios: The 915MHz band is very common in large-scale IoT applications, including agriculture, smart agriculture, smart warehousing, smart cities, remote monitoring and large-scale sensor networks. Its long-distance communication capabilities make it suitable for covering larger areas.

The selection of these frequencies often depends on geographic location, communications needs, available frequency bands, regulatory restrictions, and the requirements of the specific application. LoRa technology provides the flexibility to allow users to select the appropriate operating frequency based on the specific needs of their application. At the same time, the LoRa module also supports other frequency bands to meet the requirements of different regions, such as the 868MHz frequency band used in Europe and Asia. Low-frequency modules are suitable for applications with long-distance communication and poor signal penetration conditions, while high-frequency modules are suitable for applications with fast data transmission and shorter-distance communication.
