CC1101, SI4432, SI4463 radio frequency chip wireless communication comparison


 The C1101 is a sub-1GHz designed for very low power RF applications. It is mainly aimed at industrial, scientific and medical (ISM) and short-range wireless communication devices (SRD). The CC1101 can provide extensive hardware support for packet processing, data buffering, burst transmission, Received Signal Strength Indication (RSSI), Clear Channel Assessment (CCA), Link Quality Indication, and Wake On Wireless (WOR). The CC1101 is code, package and pin-out compatible with the CC1100 and can be used in the world's most commonly used open sub-1GHz RF designs.

 The SI4432 is a sub-1GHz high-performance RF transceiver. It is mainly aimed at industrial, scientific and medical (ISM) and short-range wireless communication devices (SRD). The output power of SI4432 can reach +20dBm, and the receiving sensitivity can reach -121dBm. It can provide data packet processing, data buffer FIFO, received signal strength indication (RSSI), clear channel assessment (CCA), wake-up timer, low voltage detection, temperature sensor , 8-bit AD converter and general-purpose input/output port and other functions hardware support.

SI4463 is a high-performance low-power RF transceiver with a frequency bandwidth between 199M and 1050M, and the receive sensitivity can reach -126dBm, the transmit power can reach +20dBm, and the receive current can be as low as 10mA. It is widely used in medical, smart agriculture, smart street lights, smart home and other fields.

The frequency bandwidth supported by CC1101 is 300-348MHz, 378-464MHz, 779-928MHz; the frequency bandwidth supported by SI4432 is 240-930MHz; the frequency bandwidth supported by SI4463 is 119-1050MHz.

In terms of the frequency bandwidth supported by the three RF chips, there is no doubt that their support bandwidths overlap, so naturally the transmit and receive frequencies of the three RF chips can be adjusted to the same frequency, such as the 433M frequency. Therefore, only in terms of the carrier frequency band, it is sufficient to realize the communication of the three chips in terms of the carrier frequency.

The modulation mode of CC1101 supports 2-FSK, 4-FSK, GFSK, OOK; the modulation mode of SI4432 supports FSK, GFSK, OOK; the modulation mode of SI4463 supports FSK, GFSK, OOK, 4(G)FSK.

As far as the modulation methods supported by the three RF chips are concerned, since there are the same modulation methods, there is no problem at all to achieve the same modulation methods, such as using GFSK modulation methods. In addition, the front-end code of CC1101 can only be in the format of 101010...., while SI4463 and SI4432 support two formats of 101010... and 010101...., so the front-end code implementation is completely possible. To further analyze the synchronization word, the synchronization word of CC1101, SI4432 and SI4463 can be set, and the length range is 1-4 bytes, and the synchronization word support of SI4432 and SI4463 is set to any value. From this point of view, no matter what Whether the synchronization word of CC1101 can be set can ensure that the synchronization words of the three of them can be set to be consistent. The front-end code and the synchronization word can be guaranteed to be consistent, so from the perspective of communication, the rest is the processing of data other than the synchronization word and the front-end code.
